Hickory, N.C.--The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Basketball team dropped a SAC game at home to UVA-Wise 68-45 on Wednesday evening. Â Tonight's matchup was a Bears first game of a back to back and their fifth game in ten days.Â

-LR will travel to Coker tomorrow at 5:30 for their first back to back games since November 8th and 9th of 2019.Â
-With the win tonight, the Cavaliers have swept the season series this year after the Bears swept the season series last year.Â

Alyssa Wagner got her first start of the season and her 27th career start as the Bears used their fourth different starting lineup in the last four games.Â
FIRST HALF:
-UVA-Wise raced out to a 19-11 lead after one quarter. The Cavaliers had seven steals in the first quarter off seven turnovers from the Bears.Â
-Wagner had seven first quarter points for the Bears on 3-3 for shooting, seven points is one point of her season-high.
-The first quarter saw no fouls called on either team, the first foul was not whistled till 5:22 left in the second quarter.
-The Cavaliers shot 53.3% in the first half with 26 of their 35 points coming from the paint.Â
SECOND HALF:
-UVA-Wise used 7-0 and 9-2 runs in the third quarter to open a 26 point lead after three quarters.Â
-Bears struggled in the second half and were limited to five field goals on 15% shooting in the second half.
-The teams combined to go 18-19 from the charity stripe on the night with the Bears going 9-9.
-The Cavaliers out scored the Bears 42-20 in the paint and 11-4 on fast breaks. UVA-Wise also had 19-7 advantage on points from turnovers.Â
ABOUT THE BEARS:
-The Bears had twelve different players play at least five minutes and nine scored but for the second time this season no one reached double figures.Â
-Through three quarters, the Bears were 1-9 from long range and 2-15 in their last seven quarters.
Tatum McBride (2) and Wagner did hit 4th quarters threes for the Bears.Â
-Seven different Bears recorded a steal on the evening for the Bears.Â
-45 points is the least amount of points scored for LR since the calendar flipped to 2021.Â
NOTABLE CAVALIERS:
-Nia Vanzant lead the Cavaliers with 24 points and 7 rebounds in 29 minutes.
-Kalee Johnson, Ada Stanley joined Vanzant in double figures.Â
-The Cavaliers came into the game 8th in the Nation in scoring at 82.6 but finished tonight game 14 points under their season average.Â
-UVA-Wise led for all but eleven seconds in the game tonight.Â
