Late Rally Pushes No. 8 Lenoir-Rhyne Past No. 13 Belmont Abbey

HICKORY, N.C. – The No. 8 Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse Team scored the game's final three goals to hand No. 13 Belmont Abbey a 14-11 loss in the Bears home opener. Toron Eccleston scored a team-high four goals on four shots to lead LR.

STATS OF THE GAME:
• Belmont Abbey jumped out to a 4-1 advantage and led 8-6 at the break 
• Lenoir-Rhyne took an 11-10 lead into the fourth quarter before Belmont Abbey evened the game one minute in
Liam McGrath, Myles Moffat and Eric Dickinson scored the final three goals of the game to earn the victory
Bryce Reece had three goals and two assists and Moffat added a pair of goals and two assists
Zach Bodeau went 14-of-22 in faceoffs, including winning all five in the fourth quarter, and led LR with eight ground balls
Connor Stanley had a team-high three caused turnovers and added four ground balls
Noah Johnson added 15 saves in the victory

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• This was Johnson's 14th game with 10 or more saves. Ryan Crompton is the all-time leader in LR history with 32 such games but Johnson is in second place
• This is Lenoir-Rhyne's 19th all-time when with the game tied or LR trailing in the fourth quarter
• LR improves to 48-12 all-time as a ranked team
• LR is 93-58 all-time and 51-27 at Moretz Stadium
