Hickory, N.C.--Playing their third straight doubleheader in the last three days, The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball team returned home and spilt a non-conference doubleheader with visiting Coker.
Will Jones hit a two-run homerun and
Joey Cobb threw four hitless innings in a 5-3 win in the second game. In game one, Bears were held to three hits in a 5-0 loss.Â

STATS OF GAME ONE:
- Bears were held to three singles in this game. LR did not get a hit until Connor Smith led off the 5th with a single up the middle. A Wade Cuda single in 6th and an Andy Lopez pitch hit single in the 7th were the only hits in this one for the Bears.
- The Cobras got a two-run homerun from Jackson Williams in the second and that is all they needed in this one.Â
- Brian Castillo added a solo shot for the Cobras in the 6th to make it 5-0.Â
- Hayden Gresham (1-2) took the loss in this one. Gresham got the start and went 1 1/3 inning allowing the two-run homerun to Williams.
- Brett Fulk, Michael Allen, Austin Blevins went 5 2/3 innings out of the pen only allowing one earned run in relief.Â
STATS OF GAME TWO:Â
- Joey Cobb (1-0) got the win in game two throwing four hitless innings while striking out a career high seven Cobras.
- Will Jones got the Bears on the board with a two-run homerun in the bottom of the 4th.
- Bears added three runs in the fifth with RBIs from Wade Cuda, Drue Galassi and Nick Clarno.
- After Coker got within two with a two-run home run homerun from Reilly Hall. Tanner Moyers came in for a scoreless inning to get the hold then Ben Friebel worked a scoreless inning for his third save.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Will Jones with two hits in game two now is two hits shy of 150 of his career. Â
- E.J. Ranel's eight game hitting streak was snapped in game one today.Â
- During Ranel's eight game hitting streak he has batted .448 with 4 HR's 9 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
- Since the calendar flipped to April, Matt Mackey had been red-hot hitting .444 with 3 HRs and 12 RBIs. During the streak, his batting average has increased 51 points to .307 entering today.Â
