Hickory, N.C.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne Softball team dropped a pair of games to Carson-Newman on Saturday.
Kylee Leonhardt hit her 40th career home run in the first game and
Savannah Moorefield collected her 200th career hit in the nightcap.

STATS OF GAME ONE:
- After the Eagles scored two in the first without a hit, Leonhardt got them back with a two-run home run in the bottom of the first.
- Carson-Newman added four runs in the third with a two-run double by KariLyne Levi and a two-run home run from Katie Eakes.
- Bears cut the lead in half in the 5th with a Talon LaClair Sac Fly and a Lora Beth Wood RBI double but that would do it for LR in the run column on the afternoon.
- Lauren Rakes (6-6) went the complete game in the circle, allowing six runs and striking out nine Eagles.
- Moorefield and Rakes had two hits apiece for the Bears.
STATS OF GAME TWO:
- The Eagles jumped ahead of the Bears for the second straight game. Carson-Newman collected three straight singles with two outs in the first to score the first run of the game.
- The bears tied the game up with a two-out RBI double by Hannah Jennings.
- In the 8th inning, Carson-Newman's Pitcher Lacie Rinus helped herself with a two-out double to give the Eagles the 2-1 lead.
- LR had runners on first and third with no one out in the bottom half but Rinus (7-2) struck out the next three to end the game.
- Morgan Beeler (6-3) suffered her third straight loss, throwing the complete game allowing just the one earned run.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- With her infield hit to lead off the bottom of the first in game two, Moorefield collected her 200th hit.
- Leonhardt is the third Bear all-time to hit 40 career home runs and moved into third place with her home run in game one.
- With her strikeout to start game one, Rakes reached the 100 strikeout mark of the season.
- Kendall Osborne joins Moorefield, Leonhardt, and LaClair as the three Bears that have started all 30 games this year.
UP NEXT: Bears will travel to Newberry on Monday to finish conference play.
