Hickory, N.C. -- The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Lacrosse team defeated Mars Hill 19-11 on Senior Day on Saturday evening.
Suzy Smith led the way for the Bears with seven goals and
Cathleen Gaffney tied her own program single-game record with eight assists. Gaffney also tied the program record for points in a game with 11 which was last done by Sarah Minick against Urbana in 2012.

STATS OF THE GAME:
- Gaffney had helpers on six of the Bears first 10 goals in the contest and scored all three of her goals in the second half.
- Mars Hill cut the LR advantage to 11-9 with 19:52 to play but Smith would score three of LR's next five goals as the Bears ended the game on a 9-2 scoring spurt.
- Defensively,
Isabelle Dunnam led the Bears with four caused turnovers and had a team-high four ground balls.

Frances Williams had a team-high with four draw controls.

Teanna Sieben also collected eight saves in cage.
- LR held a 39-21 advantage in shots and 30-19 edge in shots on goal.

Cassie Lafler netted her first career goal on a free position shot.
