HICKORY, N.C. - After a 42-10 beatdown of UVA Wise on Friday, Lenoir-Rhyne Football has announced its weekly award winners. Defensive tackle Andre Jefferson was named the Ronnie Lott Heavy Hitter of the Week after extending the sack streak to 58 games, Dwayne McGee was named the Offensive Player of the Week, Jon Ross Maye was named the Defensive Player of the Week, and Ryan Carter was named Special Teams Player of the Week. 

McGee rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns on his day to raise his season total to six, Maye picked off his second pass of the year and led the Bears with seven tackles, including 2.5 tackles-for-loss. Carter returned a punt 53 yards for a touchdown in the 3rd quarter for his first career punt return touchdown.

The Bears will return home this Saturday to take on Limestone. LR and Limestone are the only two teams remaining in the SAC without a league loss. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Moretz Stadium on Saturday.
