HICKORY, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse Team used a balance offensive attack and held off a second half comeback attempt from North Greenville to come away with a 16-11 victory on a 65 degree Saturday afternoon in Hickory.

STATS OF THE GAME
- After alternating the first four goals to start the contest, LR would break the game open with a 3-0 scoring spurt to take a 5-2 lead.
- After NGU cut it to 6-4 with 10:40 left in the first half, the Bears would respond with four straight goals from four different players to grab a 10-4 advantage.
- At that point, North Greenville mounted a furious comeback. The visitors scored with five seconds left in the first half to make it 10-5 at the break and then opened the third quarter with three straight goals to pull within two at 10-8.
- A furious offensive explosion from the Bears saw LR score six straight over nine minutes to grab the 16-8 lead with 10 minutes to play.
- North Greenville made it respectible with three goals to close out the contest.
- Myles Moffat and Toron Eccleston each finished with a hat trick and freshman Evan Voss led the Bears with five points on two goals and three assists.
- Joe Venazio netted a pair of goals and two assists on the afternoon.
- Macon Sumner was the reason for the 6-0 run as he stepped in and ended up winning 12-of-18 faceoffs on the day -- many coming in the second half -- and even scored a goal to go with a team-high seven ground balls.
- Noah Johnson made eight saves and narrowly missed scoring his second career goal against North Greenville.
- Thomas Cecere led the visitors with five points on three goals and two assists.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Today featured a battle of brothers as Lenoir-Rhyne's Myles Moffat went against younger brother Hayden Moffat.
- LR improves to 2-0 all-time against North Greenville.
- This was the 107th all-time win for LR as a program.
- LR is now 61-29 all-time at home and 62-15 all-time as a ranked team.
