St. Augustine, Fla.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne Softball team dropped both games on day two of the Old Coast Classic hosted by Flager University. In the morning, the Bears fell to Saint Leo 5-1 then the Bears dropped a 3-2 decision to Nova Southeastern later in the afternoon.
Savannah Moorefield had four hits on the day to lead the Bears.

STATS OF GAME ONE:
- Moorefield took the second pitch of the game for a double down the left field line. Hannah Jennings moved Moorefield to third on a SAC bunt then Moorefield scored on a Cassidy Wall two-out single to give the Bears a 1-0 lead.
- The Lions tied the game with an Emily Pilon single scoring Alyssa Perez to tie it at three in the bottom of the third.
- Perez then gave the Lions the lead with a two-out two-run single in the bottom of the 4th.
- Saint Leo added a solo home run by Kendyl Crean in the bottom of the 5th.
- The Lions then got an insurance run when Pilon drove in Perez with a sac fly in the bottom of the 6th.
- Lauren Rakes (1-1) took the loss in the circle throwing the complete game with 10 strikeouts.
STATS OF GAME TWO:
- RBI singles by Wall and Lora Beth Wood in the first gave the Bears a 2-0 lead.
- Sharks cut the lead in half in the bottom half with a Madison Fine RBI single.
- Nova Southeastern took the lead with a pair in the bottom of the third. Tia WIlliams had an RBI triple then Fine drove her in, which ended up being the game-winning run.
- Bears were held to just one hit in the last four innings, a double by Katelyn Rackard.
- Morgan Beeler (1-2) went the distance in the circle allowing the three earned runs.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Moorefield's three-hit game in game one was her 24th game with at least three hits for the senior.
- Bears are now 0-4 in their last four neutral site games dating back to 2021 but the Bears are 21-15 in neutral sites games since 2015.
- Wall has hit safely in five of six games to start her collegiate career.
- The Bears have scored at least two runs in five of six games and haven't been shut out yet this year.
