Cleveland, Tenn. -- Teanna Seiber tied a program record with 18 saves, including saving the potential game-tying goal with just 42 seconds left as the Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Lacrosse team opened their season with an 8-7 victory over Lee.

Jolan Morey each had two goals for the Bears in the win.

STATS OF THE GAME:
- After Lee scored the first goal 36 seconds in.
Emilee Foxall scored back-to-back goals and
Makenna Filley added one to take a 3-1 lead.
- Lee scored the last goal of the 1st period and the first goal in the second to tie it at three.
- The teams then alternated goals the rest of the half as the Bears took a 5-4 lead into halftime.

Jolan Morey scored the last goal of the first half and the first goal in the second half to give the Bears the 6-4 lead.
- Lee added a goal with 9:04 left in the third to cut it to 6-5 and the rest of the period went scoreless as the Bears took the one-goal lead into the final period.
- Filley added her second goal just 42 seconds in to give the Bears the 7-5 lead.

Kaitlyn Cavanaugh's second goal of the day gave the Bears an 8-5 lead with 11:32 left.
- The Flames scored back-to-back goals to get with one with 59 seconds left.
- Sieben then came up with her 18th save of the night as she stopped the potential game-tying goal with just 42 seconds left.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Today was the first matchup between the two programs.
- Bears open with two straight Gulf South Teams. After today, Bears will travel to Lander before their home opener on February 25th.
- Sieben joins Ines Flueck as the only goalies in program history with 18 saves in a game. It has been nearly five years since Flueck accomplished the feat.
- With the loss, Lee moves to 7-2 in their last nine games against SAC opponents.
- The win was the 99th in program history.
