Wise, VA.- The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Basketball Team rallied from ten points down in the final quarter to force overtime but the Bears potential game-tying three fell short as the Bears fall 75-72 at UVA-Wise.Â
Brandi Hudson and
Maddie Dillinger each had double-doubles in the loss.Â

- With the win tonight, the Cavaliers have now won four straight against the Bears after the Bears won the first two of the series.Â
- The two games this year were decided by five total points. The Cavs beat the Bears in Hickory by two earlier this year.Â
- Today's game featured two of the top 40 teams in the nation in free throw percentage. The Cavs came in at 76.0% (40th) while the Bears were at 76.7% (29th). However, LRÂ only shot 61.1% on the night, their second-worst percentage of the season.Â

FIRST HALF:
- Bears opened up an 11-2 lead to start the game in the first four-plus minutes.Â
- A Hudson free-throw with 2:10 put the Bears up 30-21 before the Cavs went on a 8-0 run to end the half to cut the Bears lead to one.
- Hudson had 12 of her 21 points in the first half while Dillinger added 8.Â
- Bears had 11 of their season-high 18 steals in the first half.Â
SECOND HALF:
- After the Bears scored the first basket of the second half, the Cavaliers went on a 14-4 run to take their first lead of the night. The Cavs closed the quarter with two free throws which gave the hosts a 10 point lead heading into the fourth.Â
- A Nia Vanzant layup gave UVA Wise a 60-46 lead with 7:46 left. This is when the Bears made their run. LR scored 11 straight points to get within one at 60-59. After two free throws by Katlin Burger gave Wise the three-point lead. Hannah McClung tied the game at 62-62 with a three-pointer with 1:54 lead.
- However, no one scored the rest of regulation as both teams missed their last two shots from the floor and the LR missed both of their free throws with 1:10 left.Â
- Bears had to battle back once again as the Cavs scored the first six points of overtime and eventually opened a seven-point lead with 2:37 left to go.Â
- Hudson and McClung combined for seven points in overtime to cut the lead to 75-72. After the Cavs's Jaymi Golden missed both free throws with 9 seconds left the Bears had a shot to tie it but Megan Landsidel's three pointer at the buzzer fell short.Â
ABOUT THE BEARS:
- Hudson had a career-high 15 rebounds while adding 21 points for her first double-double as a Bear.
- Dillinger had her third career double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
- McClung added four rebounds and four assists to go along with her 12 points.Â
NOTABLE CAVALIERS:
- Kalee Johnson had a double-double with 21 points and 14 rebounds.
- Burger finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds
- Mackenzie King just missed a double-double with 10 points and 9 rebounds.Â
