STATS AND INFO

  • Luis Atiles added an RBI single, which was followed up by a two-run home run from Anthony Porrino. Porrino's 16 RBIs is first in the SAC and tied for third in Division II.
  • Shippensberg added an unearned run against Patrick in the 4th, the first run (earned or unearned) that Patrick has given up the whole season.
  • David Bell broke things open in the 6th with a three-run home run, his second of the season and the fifth of his career.
  • A two-run home run in the 7th for Shippensburg's Justin Darden marked the first earned runs Patrick gave up this season.
  • The Bears added two more runs in the 7th and 8th innings respectively, with Nick Clarno coming home on a wild pitch and an RBI single from Drew Yniesta
  • Patrick's final line was 7 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 4 K.
  • Henry Cartrett and Kanan Butler finished off the win for the Bears out of the bullpen.
Game two
  • Joshua Lanham got the start, giving up single runs in the first and second innings, but nothing after. Lanham retired the final seven batters he faced in order.
  • With the Raiders up 2-0 after two innings, the Bears cut the lead to 2-1 in the third after an RBI single from Cuda.
  • Then, the floodgates opened in the 4th. LR tallied its second six-run inning of the week, fueled by five walks by Raider pitching. Bell got the big hit, a two-run double down the left field line to score Clarno and Scott Meitzler
  • Another RBI single from Cuda, a sac fly from Atiles, and another RBI single from Porrino stretched the lead to 7-2 after four.
  • LR added another run in the 5th after Meitzler doubled and came home on a Clarno RBI single.
  • Cole Laskowski added an RBI single the other way in the 6th to drive in Atiles.
  • The Bears added another six-spot in the bottom of the 8th inning. Several walks and a couple hit-by-pitches fueled the run, but two-run doubles from Erick Ramirez and Caleb Fluno in pinch-hit at-bats put the finishing touches on a dominate win for LR.
  • Braden Houston and Ben Friebel pitched scoreless innings for the Bears to preserve the win.
