Brayden Collett also hit his first career home run in the victory. The Bears improve to 23-2 overall and 5-1 in the SAC.

Location: Greeneville, Tenn. | Pioneer Park

STATS AND INFO
  • Cuda got things rolling for the Bears in the first, taking a 3-2 pitch out of the park to left field. This was the third time this season that Cuda has homered in the first inning as the leadoff man.
  • The Bears had a big second inning, with Nick Clarno leading things off with a single and advancing to second on a wild pitch. He was then knocked with an RBI from Anthony Porrino, his team-leading 31st RBI of the season.
  • After a sacrifice bunt from Brett Eurey moved Porrino to 2nd, freshman Brayden Collett came to the plate. The Evans, Ga. native hit a ball down the left field line just inside the foul pole for a two-run home run, the first of his career. It was 4-0 Bears after two innings.
  • A single by Luis Atiles and a Tusculum error put two more men on base in the 3rd inning, and David Bell continued his hot streak with a two-run single to make it 6-0. Bell has 12 RBIs in his last seven games.
  • The Pioneers added their only run of the game in the 4th inning, which was unearned.
  • The Bears finished off the win the single runs in the 6th and 9th innings, including a sacrifice fly and RBI from Nick Clarno.
  • Lanham worked out of a couple jams to keep his slate clean, and struck out five batters in six innings. His SAC-leading ERA is down to 1.46.
  • Joey Cobb pitched two scoreless innings with four strikeouts, and Braden Houston pitched a scoreless 9th. Houston has yet to allow a run in 8.1 innings this season.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
  • LR has now played 25 games, which is the halfway point of their 50-game slate. This is the best start in school history.
  • The Bears had lost seven out of the last eight against Tusculum going into the series, and had only won five games in Greeneville in program history.
  • Cuda is the first player in the SAC to reach double digit home runs with 10. He leads the conference in that category by two, and his 10 big flys are 5th in the nation.
  • Lanham ties teammate Andrew Patrick with five victories, tied for the most in the SAC.
  • The Bears have three of the top four run producers in the SAC. Porrino is second in RBIs with 31, Cuda is third with 30, and Bell and fourth with 26.
