HICKORY, N.C. - After jumping ahead 4-0, No. 18 Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball saw its lead evaporate after Anderson scored seven runs in the middle innings and then came from behind to beat the Trojans 10-7 and improve to 18-0 at home this season.
Drew Yniesta hit his 5th home run of the year, and
Matt Mackey had three RBIs to lead the Bears to the come-from-behind victory.

STATS AND INFO
- With rain falling and the wind gusting in the 1st inning, Yniesta roped his 5th homer of the year to left field to drive in Wade Cuda.
- The Bears added two more runs in the 3rd inning on back-to-back RBI bunts from Cole Laskowski and Matt Mackey.
- After facing the minimum through three innings, LR starter Austin Edwards ran into trouble with two outs in the 4th with back-to-back RBI singles to cut the lead to 4-3.
- Mackey added another RBI in the 5th with a bases-loaded walk to make it 5-3.
- Anderson hit two home runs in the 6th inning to take their first lead of the game at 6-5, and then another RBI single for the Trojans made it 7-5 in the 7th.
- As they often do, the Bears came to life offensviely in the clutch. An RBI double from Anthony Porrino was the third hit in a row for the Bears in the bottom of the 7th, which made it 7-6. Laskowski then tied the game with an opposite-field RBI single to drive in Clarno and make it 7-7.
- Another sacrifice bunt and RBI for Mackey gave the Bears the lead back at 8-7, and they would never relinquish it after that. Laskowski scored the 9th run on a wild pitch, and and Luis Atiles came home on a passed ball in the 8th.
- Spencer Floyd got his first career save, pitching a perfect 9th inning following up Braden Houston's perfect 8th inning.
- Mackey finished with three RBIs, but didn't actually record an at-bat. He walked twice and had two RBI sacrifice bunts.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- LR moves to 18-0 at home this season. The Bears won 19 total games in 2021, and have nearly surpassed that number at home alone in 2022.
- The Bears are now 11-0 when scoring 10+ runs this season.
- Floyd's ERA is lowered to 0.71, and Houston's decreases to 0.77
- The Bears have now won four out of the last five games against Anderson.
- This weekend is the Trojans' first trip to Hickory since March of 2019.
