TIGERVILLE, S.C. - In a battle of top-20 teams, it was No. 20 North Greenville that got the best of No. 18 Lenoir-Rhyne 12-2 in a non-conference midweek matchup in Tigerville, S.C.
Matt Mackey hit two solo home runs for the only runs of the day for the Bears, but the Crusaders scored runs in six different innings to win comfortably.

STATS AND INFO
- Spencer Floyd got his first career collegiate start for the Bears. A three-run home run in the bottom of the 1st inning put the Crusaders up 3-0 after one.
- The Bears threatened for a big inning in the 2nd, but could only push one run across. The first two men got out, and Mackey came up and hit his 5th home run of the year. After that, the Bears loaded the bases, but Luis Atiles lined out to right field, narrowly missing extra bases and a big inning.
- Another solo homer for the Crusaders in the 4th made it 4-1, and the Bears had a couple defensive mishaps in the game that extended innings for the Crusaders.
- A lineout double play involving Atiles again stalled out the Bears in the 5th when they threatened.
- Mackey's second homer of the day came in the 9th inning.
- The Crusaders racked up 12 hits and scored three in the 1st, one in the 3rd, two each in the 4th and 5th, one in the 6th, and three in the 8th to balance out the attack. John Michael Faile hit two home runs for NGU.
- Ben Friebel and Joey Cobb each pitched scoreless innings for the Bears.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- This was the first time all season that the Bears gave up double-digit runs. LR is 12-0 when scoring double digits themselves.
- Mackey's two home runs were his 5th and 6th of the season, and 13th and 14th of his LR career.
- This was the first meeting between these two teams since 2014. LR now holds a 9-6 edge all-time against NGU.
- This was the first of two meetings this year. The Crusaders will travel to Hickory on April 18.
