Women's Lacrosse Falls to Alabama-Huntsville to Close Home Stand

HICKORY, N.C.- The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Lacrosse Team closed out their four game home stand with an 18-8 defeat from Alabama-Huntsville on Tuesday afternoon. With the loss, the Bears finished 1-3 on the home stand and fell to 2-4 on the season. Kaitlyn Cavanaugh had three goals and added an assist while Jolan Morey added a pair of goals and assists.

STATS OF THE GAME:
- After the Chargers scored the first two goals of the game, Cavanaugh set up Suzy Smith for her 12th goal of the season then Cavanaugh scored herself to even it at two with 7:23 left in the first. 
- The Chargers went on to score the next four goals before Morey scored with just 55 seconds left in the first quarter to end the run. Morey's goal was her 10th of the season to join Smith in double digits this year. 
-Cavanaugh and Ellie Campbell got goals in the second quarter but Alabama-Huntsville took a 9-5 lead into the break.
-Both Campbell and Morey got their second goal of the game in the third quarter but the Chargers stretched their lead to five heading into the fourth.
-Cavanaugh score her third goal for the Bears lone goal in the fourth. 
-Teanna Sieben had 14 saves in goal for the Bears, the third game this year with at least 13 saves for the senior.
-Isabelle Dunnam had three of the Bears's nine caused turnovers. Dunnam added a pair of ground balls as well.
-Bears were out shot 39-19 on the afternoon. The Chargers had 32 shots on goal compared to just 15 for LR.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Third time this year the Bears have played a program for the first time (Lee, Lander)
- Alabama-Huntsville is the 48th different program the Bears have played in their 12 year history. 
- Sieben with 14 saves today moved into second place in the SAC with 64 saves.  
- Morey has scored in every game this year and has 12 points in the last two games.
