Hickory N.C.-- Suzy Smith scored four fourth quarter goals including three straight to tie her career high with seven goals as the Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Lacrosse Team defeated visiting UVA-Wise 16-9 on Saturday inside the Bricks.
Jolan Morey added a pair of goals and
Isabelle Dunnam had six caused turnovers for the Bears in the win.

STATS OF THE GAME
- The Bears opened the game with the first three goals of the game. Tess Grimley got the Bears on the board then Smith and Jolan Morey scored to gave the Bears an early 3-0 lead.
- After the Cavs scored their first of the game, The Bears scored the next five goals before the Cavs added one before the end of the first quarter. The Bears took a 8-2 lead into the second quarter.
- The second quarter was a defense battle as each team only added one goal in the quarter as the Bears took a six goal advantage into halftime.
- The Cavs came out hot in the second half scoring the next four goals to cut the lead to 9-7. UVA-Wise held the Bears scoreless in the quarter.
- Ellie Campbell got the Bears on the scoreboard in the second half with back to back goals in the fourth.
- Then Smith took over scoring three straight goals to gave the Bears a 14-8 lead with 6:06 left.
- After Cavs added a goal, Smith scored her seventh of the game and Morey added the Bears last goal for the 16-9 win.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- UVA-Wise defeated the Bears 12-11 in overtime in last year's SAC Conference Quarterfinals.
- Smith had seven goals in three separate games last year including the game against the Cavs in the SAC Tournament.
- Dunnam's six caused turnovers makes her season total 35,which passed Claire Wach for most in a single season.
