WISE, Va..-- The Lenoir-Rhyne volleyball team won its fifth straight with a convincing sweep of UVA Wise on Saturday afternoon. The Bears won by scores of 25-22, 25-17 and 25-21 to move to 10-1 in South Atlantic Conference play.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
- Emmaleigh Allen led the Bears with 13 kills on the afternoon and Aasia McNeill added 10.
- Freshman Sydney Karjala continued her standout rookie season with 34 assists and nine digs.
- Lyndsie Warren totaled 15 digs, trailing only Allen who had 16 on the day.
- Taylor Osborne had eight kills and hit .429, the same figure that Kathy Peter hit on her seven kills.
- As a team, the Bears hit .274 and had 45 kills to go with 10 total blocks. Cheynne Clonch had three rejections as well as McNeill.
- Karjala and Allen each had two aces as the Bears recorded six in the win.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- LR has won three straight on the road since dropping a match at Wingate on Sept. 26.
- Anderson, Wingate and LR are all tied with one loss in the SAC standings. LR beat Anderson and the Trojans beat Wingate.
- With eight regular season games and at least one SAC Tournament game, the Bears have clinched a winning season.
- This will be the 31st winning season in 49 years of LR Volleyball.
