HICKORY, N.C.-- The No. 6 Lenoir-Rhyne men's lacrosse team dished out 18 assists on 20 goals in a thumping of SAC foe Catawba on Saturday night. The 18 helpers tie the most in a single game in program history as the Bears also had 18 assists in a win over Coker on March 5, 2022. 12 different players scored a goal for the Bears in the victory.

STATS OF THE GAME
- After a slow first quarter, the Bears came out blazing in the second quarter. With LR up 3-2 heading into the second, the Bears exploded for seven goals in a 3:14 span to put away the Indians.
- The half would end with a Myles Moffat buzzer beater from Toron Eccleston off a reset behind the Indians goal and just 1.1 seconds to go.
- The Bears outscored Catawba 7-2 in the third quarter and took an 18-4 lead into the last frame.
- LR fired 61 shots against Catawba, their fourth game this season with at least 60 shots taken.
- The 36 shots on goal were the second-most in a single game in program history.
- Moffat led the way in the scoring barrage with three goals and three assists for six points. Moffat now has 41 points on the season and 249 for his career.
- Eccleston tallied two goals and three assists and Joe Venazio had two goals and two assists. Ayden Mowry, Brad Maslowski and Jarrett Huff all had two goals each.
- Evan Voss had a goal and three assists and has seven helpers over his past two games.
- John Paulus went 9-for-15 on the face off and had a game-high seven ground balls.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- LR came into the game as one of the top teams in the nation in assists and only added to that total.
- The Bears extended their program-record home winning streak to 15 in a row.
- LR has also won 12 straight SAC games.
- This is the seventh straight win for LR over Catawba and the last four have all been by double figures.
- LR's previous three games all came against nationally ranked opponents.
- In the bears six game winning streak ,they are outscoring opponents 114-41.
