AUSTIN, Texas -- Lenoir-Rhyne's
Lisa Boernigen has been named College Sports Communicators (CSC, formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-American and earned a spot on the Third Team as announced by the organization. This is the first year that swimmimg has its own award as it was previously grouped in the "At Large" category in years past which included the sports of lacrosse, tennis, wrestling and rowing.
Boernigen is made four appearances to NCAA Nationals and is a standout in the classroom as well. An International Business and Management major, Boernigen has been a two-time Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society honoree and three-time president and dean's list selection. Boernigen holds multiple team records including: 100 and 200 freestyle, 50 butterfly, and 100, 200 and 400 IM. She also has been a member of the Bears Leadership Academy, an academic tutor, a Bear of Distinction and on the National Society for Leadership and Success.
The Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist the College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Division II Academic All-America® program.
