PUEBLO, Colo. --
Dario Matau and
Alexis Brown each earned a National Runner Up honors in the 200m and 100m respectively to pace a strong showing at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships for Lenoir-Rhyne. The duo wrap up a tremendous overall season as Matau had a pair of National Runner Ups in the Indoor Championships and Brown had an individual National Championship.
Matau ran the 200m in 20.34 to earn his runner up in the event. Additionally, Matau finished eighth in the 100m dash to earn a pair of All-American accolades.
Brown finished second in the 100m with a sprint of 11.10 seconds. Brown would add a fifth-place finish in the 200m dash with a time of 23.28 to become a two-time All-American at the meet.
LR closed out the event with a pair of relays. The men's 4x400m relay team of
Lucas Besong,
Marcus Crumpler,
Jacob Wadsworth, Matau brought home a bronze with a third-place finish in 3:07.00. Unfortunately, the 4x100m relay team of
Trent Davis II, Besong, Matau and Wadsworth did not finish.
As a team, LR finished 19th at the Championships and the women brought home a 23rd place finish.
LR would earn All-Americans in six different events.
