Hickory, N.C.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Basketball Team erased an 11 point halftime deficit to comeback and defeat the Carson-Newman Eagles 62-60 on Saturday afternoon inside the Shu. The win snaps an eight-game losing streak to the Eagles. Blaikley Crooks led the Bears with 19 points and nine rebounds while Tilda Lindstrom had her third double-double of the year. The win also extends the Bears winning streak to five games.

STATS AND INFO:
- Already snapping long losing streaks to Limestone and UVA-Wise in the past week, the Bears snapped an eight-game skid to Carson-Newman today.
- It was also the first win in Hickory against the Eagles since the 2016 season.
- Emily Harman moved one points shy of 1,300 career points. She will be just the 11th player to reach that mark in program history.
- Harman and Crooks played in their 90th career game since arriving in Hickory.
- The Bears honored 1,000 points scorers Crooks, Harman and Jalen Gathers with a pre-game ceremony.
FIRST HALF:
- It was all Eagles in the first period as the visitors jumped out to a 22-12 lead after ten minutes of play.
- The Bears responded with an 8-0 run to open the second quarter but the Eagles responded with a 10-0 run of their own to regain the double-digit lead.
- The Eagles opened a 14 point lead but an Andrea Torres three with 56 seconds left cut the lead to 39-28 heading into halftime.
SECOND HALF:
- Lindstrom, who scored 11 points in the third quarter tied the game at 48 with 3:24 left in the third after her third three-pointer of the night.
- After combining for 107 points in the first three quarters, the teams combined for only fifteen fourth quarter points.
- C-N held a one possession lead all fourth quarter until five straight free throws by Crooks gave the Bears the lead for good at 61-59.
- Gathers added a free throw to stretch the lead to 62-59 with 16 seconds left.
- The Eagles had three shots on their final possession but could not get the trying basket as the Bears held on for the comeback win.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- LR attempted 21 three-pointers, one shy of a season high total.
- Crooks and Lindstrom had 19 of the team's 38 rebounds.
- Bears won despite going 1-12 from the field in the final quarter. The Eagles were not much better going 2-14 in the final frame.
- This is the second time this season the Bears won when shooting under 37% from the floor.
- Harman added four steals while Maleiya Hill had three.
