HICKORY, NC - Homecoming is BACK in Hickory. This weekend the Bears will welcome the Limestone Saints for football and men's & women's soccer games.
The weekend gets started with the Hanley Painter Memorial Golf Tournament, which will take place on Friday at the Lake Hickory Country Club. This year's tournament will include skill awards such as closest to the pin, long drive, and three flights determined by the total age of the group (Flight 1 – 160 and below, Flight 2 -161-259, Flight 3-260 and above). Due to an abundance of groups for this year's tournament, the sign up sheet is officially closed.
The tailgate lots open on Saturday at 7:00 a.m. At 10:00 will be the Homecoming Parade/Bear Walk. The Bears Club Paviliion will officially open at 10:50, while gate open to Moretz at 11:00 a.m. Kickoff for the Bears football game vs. Limestone is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Following the football game head over to the Lenoir-Rhyne soccer field to watch the No. 6 Lenoir-Rhyne women's soccer team take on the Saints for senior day at 5:00 p.m. The men's soccer team will close out the day by taking on No. 4 Limestone at 7:30 p.m.
In addition to the official games, men's and women's lacrosse will be hosting alumni games on Friday and Saturday. Men's Lacrosse's alumni game will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Friday night at Moretz Stadium, with a tailgate to follow. Women's Lacrosse's alumni game will be played on Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. in Moretz.
The official post game location for all Lenoir-Rhyne games on Saturday is the Hickory Social House, which is located on 2039 N Center St in Hickory, just northwest of campus.
