HICKORY, N.C.-- In the Bears regular season home finale, The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball team fell to Anderson in four sets on Wednesday night.
Kayli Cleaver led the Bears with 13 kills while
Brooke Aeschliman had a season high 11 kills. The Bears will now finish the regular season with three straight road games before the SAC Tournament begins.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

STATS OF THE MATCH:
- After the Trojans took their first lead of the set at 16-15, the Bears closed on a 9-0 run, capped off by a Kathy Peter sealed the set with a kill.
- It was Trojans turn in the second set to have a big run, the set was tied 17-17 when Anderson went on a 7-0 run and tied the game at one set a piece.
- The third set saw eight total blocks, four by each team as Anderson squeaked out a 25-23 victory. Averie Dale had four kills in the set for the Bears.
- LR fought off three match points to tie the game at 24-24 in the fourth set, but the Trojans got back to back kills from Ava Reeves to seal the set and match.
- Lenoir-Rhyne notched 12 blocks on the night, their second most in one match this season.
- Sydney Karjala and Rachel Wildermith combined for 37 assists on the night while Karjala lead the Bears with 13 digs.
- Jenna Vogen added 12 digs and seven kills for the Bears.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- The teams split the regular season series as LR won in five sets earlier in the season in Anderson.
- LR had 26 total blocks in the two games against Anderson this season.
- Both teams were among consideration in the first regional rankings that were release earlier this week.
- Bears hope to return home for a SAC Quarterfinal match on November 19th. Bears will need two wins to secure a top four position.
- LR is still tied with Carson-Newman for second in the conference as the Eagles lost to Mars Hill tonight. Wingate leads the conference race by two games.
UP NEXT: The Bears will hit the road for the final three games of the regular season. The first trip is to Salisbury to face Catawba. The Bears swept the Indians just last Friday on Senior Night inside the Shu. First-Serve is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
