Hickory, N.C.-- For the second straight home game, the Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Basketball team took down a top 25 team. On Wednesday, the Bears defeated #12 Catawba 81-66 behind 20 points from Mikeba Jones. Jones went 14-17 from the free throw line to help the Bears to their third top-25 upset of the season and second straight inside the Shu. Blaikley Crooks added 19 points while Jayda Glass had 12 points and a career high five steals.

- Crooks had 11 points in the first half to lead the Bears while Jones had 9 points.
SECOND HALF:
- Catawba could not cut the lead into single digits in the third quarter as the Bears stretched their lead to 17 points in the frame.
- The Indians finally got the lead under ten at 67-59 with 7:17 to play but an 8-0 run by the Bears capped by three-pointer by Tilda Lindstrom,ended any chance at a comeback from the Indians.
- Catawba went just 2-11 from beyond the arc in the fourth quarter and just 4-20 in the game while the Bears hit 43% of their three-pointers.
BEYOND THE BOX SORE:
- Catawba had 25 turnovers in the game as the Bears scored 33 points off the Indians miscues.
- Jones also lead the Bears with seven rebounds while Lindstrom had six.
- Bears shot exactly 50% from the field in the first three quarters but just 36% in the fourth.
