HICKORY, N.C. -- The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Lacrosse fell for the second straight game as #4 Tampa came into town and defeated the Bears 26-3 on Wednesday afternoon. Tampa held the Bears scoreless in the second half as the #4 team in the nation scored 11 first quarter goals in the victory.
Kaitlyn Cavanaugh scored two of the three goals while
Kirra Olson added a goal for the Bears.

STATS OF THE GAME
- Tampa scored the first four goals of the game before Cavanaugh scored back-to back goals to cut the lead to 4-2.
- The Spartans then scored the last seven goals of the first quarter and the first two of the second period.
- Olson then stopped the streak at the 7:06 mark in the second quarter as Cavanaugh got the assist on the goal.
- However, that was the last goal of the game for the Bears as Tampa scores the last 13 goals of the game.
- Sally Friesen made ten saves while Mckenzie Walsh made two saves for the Bears.
- Bears forced Tampa into 12 turnovers but committed 20 of their own.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Four years ago on Thursday was Tampa's last trip to Hickory.
- Bears won the first two in the series between these programs but Tampa has won the last three.
- This was Tampa's first game of the season.
- This is the Bears last home game that is non-conference. LR will travel to Mount Olive and Belmont Abbey later in the season in non-SAC games.
