Bears Drop Non-Conference Tilt With Mount Olive

Mount Olive, N.C.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Lacrosse Team stepped out of conference play and traveled to Mount Olive for a non-conferene tilt on Saturday. Kirra Olson scored three goals on the day but the Bears fall to the host Trojans 21-8. Sally Friesen made eight saves in goal for the Bears as LR will look to rebound on Wednesday night at Mars Hill.

STATS OF THE GAME
  • Olson and Jolan Morey got first period goals for the Bears but the Trojans raced out to a 8-2 lead after ten minutes. 
  • Olson and Christensen had back to back goals in the second period to cut the lead to 11-6 but Mount Olive scored with :36 seconds left in the half to take a 12-6 lead into the break. 
  • After Morey scored her second goal, the Bears scored a man down when Rylie McGhan scored with 9;45 left in the third but the Trojans scored the last seven goals of the game to take the victory 21-8. 
  • Bears were out shot 40-13 on the night but the Bears scored on 8 of their 13 shots. 
  • Christensen had three caused turnovers and seven draw controls including her goal.
  • Friesen made 8 saves inside the pipes.
