Mars Hill, N.C.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Lacrosse made program history on Wednesday night. Playing their first night game of the season the Bears held Mars Hill scoreless as the Bears post their first ever shutout. Bears have held their opponents to one goal three times in their 13 year history but tonight was the first time the Bears held their opponent scoreless.
Rylie McGhan, Jolen Morey and
Kirra Olson each had four goals for the Bears as LR held Mars Hill to just two shots.

STATS OF THE GAME
- Olson, Morey and Anneliese Meyer all scored two goals as the Bears scored seven straight goals and held the Lions scoreless in the first period.
- Bears held Mars Hill to just two shots in the first half and Lions did not score as the Bears added three more goals in the second half to take a 10-0 lead after the break.
- LR scored four more goals in the third and fourth quarter to cruise to a 18-0 victory. McGhan scored three of her four goals in the second half.
- Bears actually held the Lions without a shot in the second half as the Bears out shot the Lions 39-2.
- Alexa Burghardt had six ground balls and three caused turnovers for the Bears.
- Olivia Newton added three assists and three groundballs.
- LR forced 26 turnovers on the night.
