Hickory, N.C.-- For the first time this season, the Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Basketball team won back-to-back games as LR led wire-to-wire for a 87-68 win over Emory & Henry inside Shuford Arena on Saturday afternoon.
Vanessa Jurewicz lead the Bears with 22 points on 8-11 shooting while adding three assists and four rebounds. Jurewicz, who had a season high 25 points in these teams' first meeting, finished with 47 points in the two wins over the Wasps this season.
Blaikley Crooks added 18 points while
Tilda Lindstroem had 15 points and
Emily Harman pitched in 12.

STORY OF THE GAME:
- LR led wire-to-wire as Emory & Henry did have a single lead in the contest.
- The Bears shot 50% from the floor in the first half, hitting 15 of 30 shots to open a 44-29 lead at half.
- The third quarter was high scoring back and forth action as 58 combined points were scored in the frame.
- Lenoir-Rhyne extended their lead to 19 points heading into the final 10 minutes of play.
- The Wasps could not cut into the Bears lead as LR cruised for a 87-68 win.
- For the fourth time this season, LR shot 50% or better from the floor, finishing 32-62 (51.6%) on the day.
- The Bears did go 0-8 from the beyond the arc in the second half, but shot 5-11 from three in the first half.
- Harman stuffed the stat sheet today, adding seven rebounds, five assists and four steals.
- Ten different players registered a rebound for LR today, lead by the seven from Harman.
- The Bears committed only nine turnovers, their second least on the season.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Bears remain perfect all-time against Emory & Henry (5-0)
- Three of the five wins have been here in Hickory.
- Emily Harman is currently third all-time in points and assists in program history. Harman also now sits at ninth all-time in rebounds.
- Blaikley Crooks is now 12 points away from being 8th player in program history to reach 1,500 points.
- The win helps the Bears get within 1/2 of a game behind UVA Wise for 8th place in the SAC.
UP NEXT: Lenoir-Rhyne will host Limestone on Wednesday. The two teams were part of the four-way tie for 9th place in the SAC entering today. Limestone had Saturday off and will also be riding a two game winning streak into Hickory. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
