Lenoir-Rhyne falls at Anderson

ANDERSON, S.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne dropped their third conference match Tuesday night, falling 3-0 against Anderson. Emmaleigh Allen led the team with 13 kills while Emmie Modlin finished with 12 assists and 10 digs. 

Lenoir-Rhyne looks to rebound this Friday when they hit the road to face off against Lincoln Memorial.

STORY OF THE MATCH:
  • Anderson jumped ahead 10-4 before the Bears went on a 8-2 run to tie it a 12-12 in the first set. 
  • The Trojans pulled away late with back-to-back kills, eventually winning the set 25-21.
  • Lenoir-Rhyne produced only seven kills and one service ace in a 25-11 set two defeat.
  • An Emmie Modlin kill gave the Bears their largest lead of the match, 17-14, in the third set.
  • After the Bears used their first timeout of the set, Kayli Cleaver and Emmaleigh Allen had back-to-back kills to tie the set at 21-21.
  •  The Trojans sealed the sweep with a 4-1 run to close out the set, finishing with 49 kills and just 10 attack errors.
  • Lenoir-Rhyne finished with 39 kills, 35 assists, and five service aces.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
  • This was the 37th all-time meeting between the Bears and Trojans.
  • Anderson now leads the all-time series 19-18 and snapped their three-match losing streak to Lenoir-Rhyne.
