HARROGATE, TN - The Lenoir-Rhyne women's basketball team fell 88-77 on the road at Lincoln Memorial to open South Atlantic Conference play on Friday.
Three pointers and free throws were the difference in this one, as the Railsplitters led the Bears 12-7 in three and 30-14 in free throws.
Aaliyah El continued her strong play, finishing with 21 points and two steals.

STORY OF THE GAME:
- After a made bucket from Elyseia Brown to open the game, Lincoln Memorial went on a 19-0 run.
- Madilyn Winterton made a layup to stop the bleeding, but the Bears saw themselves down 28-12 after one.
- The Railsplitters kept pushing and extended their lead to 57-30 at the break.
- Lenoir-Rhyne put forth a valiant effort in the second half, outscoring the home side 18-14 in the third and 29-17 in the fourth.
- Abigail Brown cut the lead to 14 midway through the fourth with a three.
- Elyseia Brown and Payton Harvey hit two late buckets to give the game it's final score.
STATS OF THE GAME:
- Aaliyah El led the Bears with 28 points on 6-11 shooting from the field and 9-10 from the free throw line.
- Freshman Peyton Harvey scored a career high 15 points in the loss.
- Lenoir-Rhyne was 28-58 (48.3%) from the field, 7-18 (38.9%) from three, and 14-19 (73.7%) from the charity stripe.
- Lincoln Memorial went 23-54 (42.6%) from the field, 12-29 (41.4%) from three, and 30-40 (75%) from the free throw line.
- The Bears committed 20 turnovers compared to LMU's 17.
- Lenoir-Rhyne dominated the paint 40-22.

- Abigail Brown leads the conference in blocks (18) and has tallied a block in all but one game this season.
- Lenoir-Rhyne leads the all-time series 23-12 but is now on a three game losing streak to the Railsplitters.
