Brent Owen has been named the national NCAA DII Coach of the Week by HoopDirt.com. This is the second year in a row coach Owen has taken home a coach of the week honor.
Lenoir-Rhyne moved to 8-2 on the season after a 2-0 week, earning wins over Catawba and Emory & Henry. The Bears were in a battle with Catawba on Wednesday, squeaking out the 75-71 victory. Five players ended in double figures and the Bears shot an efficient 9-15 (60%) from three. In Saturday's win over Emory & Henry the Bears fought back from an early 26-16 deficit to take a five-point lead at the break and eventually win 95-87.
Conrad Luczynski picked up his fourth double-double of the season with an 18-point, 13-rebound performance.
The Bears are currently riding an eight game winning streak and are 3-0 in conference play. The reigning SAC Champions will have a battle on Saturday when they travel to UVA Wise to take on the 8-1 Cavaliers.
