HICKORY, NC - For the first time in nearly three weeks, the Lenoir-Rhyne baseball team lost a game, falling 7-4 in their Saturday opener against Wingate. They came out with a vengence in game two, taking down the Bulldogs 9-2 to win the weekend series.
Michael Logan led the Bears at the plate today, going 4-for-7 with three RBI's, two runs scored, one home run and one double.

GAME ONE INFO:
- Cole Laskowski's 200th career hit in the first gave the Bears an early 1-0 lead.Â
- After Wingate tied it in the top of 3rd, Bears retook the lead when Owen Blackledge walked, stole second and scored on Laskowski's second RBI single of the game.Â
- Nathan Kidder extended the lead to 3-1 with a RBI single in the 4th.
- That was biggest lead of the game for LR as Wingate scored four runs in the sixth and added two more in the 7th.Â
- Michael Logan added a solo home run in the sixth, but the Bears could not battle back as Wingate took game one 7-4.
- William Girardi went 5 2/3 on the mound allowing six runs (five earned) in the loss.Â
- Logan and Laskowski each had two hits for the Bears.
GAME TWO INFO:
- The Bears jumped on the Bulldogs with a three-spot in the first thanks to RBI's from Cole Laskowski, Sal Carricato, and Michael Logan.
- Lenoir-Rhye continued to pour things on in the fourth, as a Joseph Mozingo solo shot helped propel the Bears to a 7-0 lead.
- Nathaniel Keeter hit a solo shot in the fifth and Laskowski hit an RBI single to bring LR's total runs to nine.
- Wingate got back two in the top of the seventh to give the game it's final score.
- Mozingo went 3-for-4 with a run and RBI.Â
- Mackenzie Wainwright, Cole Stanford, Michael Logan, and Nathaniel Keeter all had two hits.
- Kellen Gradisar (3-0) allowed just three hits and no runs in five innings of work to get the win.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Cole Stanford extended his hitting streak to 13 games while Logan extended his to an even dozen.Â
- Laskowski is the first person to reach 200 hits as a Bear since Marcus Shoemaker did it in 2018.Â
- Shoemaker finished with 214 hits, which is good for 10th most all-time as Laskowski looks to move pass him this season.Â
UP NEXT: The Bears will not have a mid-week game this week. They will head to Hartsville, South Carolina, next week to face Coker. The Cobras are 9-4 this season and will open SAC play at Emory & Henry on Sunday and Monday. That series got moved due to weather in Virginia. Friday's game is schedule for a 6:00 p.m. first pitch.Â
