WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Just a week out from the SAC Indoor Championships, the Lenoir-Rhyne Men's & Women's Track & Field teams competed at the JDL Last Chance Invitational.
Alexis Brown highlighted the women with a first-place finish in the long jump, jumping 5.54 meters (18-2.25).
Damyja Ortiz took second in the 400 meters, clocking in a time of 58.50 seconds.
Savannah Nippa shined in the field events, taking fourth in the weight throw and fifth in shot put.
For the men,
Malachi Carter qualified for the finals of the 60m dash with a time of 6.99, and took fifth in the finals with a finish of 7.01 seconds.
Marcus Crumpler took the win in the 400 meters, clocking a time of 49.42 seconds.
Mike Karicher continued his strong vaulting season, taking third with a mark of 4.50m (14-9.00).

The Bears are set to compete in the SAC Indoor Championships next week at JDL in Winson-Salem. The competition is set to take place on both Saturday and Sunday.
