Hickory, N.C. -- The Lenoir-Rhyne Bears dropped their final two games of the Bear Bash on Sunday, falling 6-5 in eight innings to West Liberty then dropping a 7-3 contest to Augusta to close the night.

STORY OF GAME ONE:
- After Hilltopper's Emily Allen hit a solo home run in the first, The Bears tied it at one in the second inning as Alexandria Gray had a two-out RBI single.
- Cassidy Wall's 8th RBI of the season give the LR a 2-1 lead, however West Liberty responded in the 4th with two runs to take a 3-2 lead.
- Wall delivered again, hitting a two-out double down the left field line to tie the game at 3-3 after five.
- Adda Prescott gave the Bears back the lead with a pitch hit RBI single up the middle in the bottom of the 6th.
- The back and forth game continued in the 7th as the Hilltoppers got a go-ahead two-run home run from Izzy McKee.
- Down to their last out, Wall continued her hot streak with a game tying home run to send it to extras.
- West Liberty got the game winning run in the 8th as the Hilltoppers held the Bears in the bottom of the 8th to secured the win.
- Brooklin Heavner got the start in the circle and got the no decision pitching 5 1/3 innings and allowing three runs (two earned). Alissa Russ pitched 2 1/3 innings out the bullpen also allowing three runs (two earned).
- Wall finished 3-for-4 and was a triple away from the cycle and drove in 3 runs.
STORY OF GAME TWO:
- Augusta opened the game with three runs in the first two innings.
- Lenoir-Rhyne got their first two runs of the game on a two-run home run from Madison Primm, cutting the lead to 3-2.
- After a run from the Jaguars in the fourth, Julia Mardigian used a sacrifice fly RBI to but the lead back to one.
- Augusta scored three runs in the final two innings to seal the win.
- Madison Wilson (3-3) took the loss for the Bears.
STATS OF THE MATCH:
- This the 10th all-time meeting against West Liberty. Bears are still up 7-3 all-time in the series.
- This was the first time Augusta and LR has played since 2020.
- Game one was the first extra inning game of the year for the Bears after having ten last year.
- Rackard has 199 career hits after hits in each game today.
- Mardigian now has 149 career RBIs.
