Hickory, N.C. -- The Lenoir-Rhyne Softball team dominated day one of the Bear Bash II, outscored their opponents 19-0 in two mercy-rule victories.
In game one, LR used a six-run 4th inning to lead them a 12-0 victory over Frostburg State.
Avery Kiger,
Alexandria Gray and
Lani Warren each had two hits and drove in two runs as
Alissa Russ got a complete game shutout in the circle. In the second game,
Cassidy Wall, Kiger and
Julia Mardigian went deep to give the Bears an 8-0 victory.

STORY OF GAME ONE:
- The Bears scored first in this one with a three-run first inning.
- All three opening inning runs came with two outs as Lani Warren hit a two-run double and Avery Kiger stayed hot with a RBI single up the middle.
- The Bobcats loaded the bases in the second inning with no outs, but Alissa Russ struck out the next three hitters to keep Frostburg off the scoreboard.
- Kiger and Alexandria Gray added RBI's in the third inning as LR extended the lead to 6-0.
- A six-run fourth inning gave the Bears an even dozen.
- Madison Primm did not have an official at-bat, walking all three times she was at the plate. She came around and scored each of those times.
- Kiger, Gray and Warren each had two hits and two RBI's.
- Russ got her first victory of the season with the complete game shutout in the circle.
STORY OF GAME TWO:
- Lenoir-Rhyne jumped ahead with three runs in the second inning, despite only having one hit in the frame.
- Cassidy Wall opened the bottom of the third with a solo shot to center field. Two batters later, Avery Kiger hit a two-run home run to give the Bears a 6-0 lead.
- Julia Mardigian led off the 6th inning with her 2nd home run of the season.
- With Katelyn Rackard on first, Wall ended the game with a double in the gap to walk it off.
- Madison Wilson picked up her 6th win of the season with the complete game shutout.
- Warren and Wall had two hits a piece in this one.
STATS OF THE MATCH:
- This marks the second straight season Frostburg State has traveled to Hickory. LR swept a doubleheader from them last year.
- This is the first time LR has played Mount Olive since the 2017 season.
- Shena Hollar is now 13 wins away from 1000 here at LR.
- Wall's home run was her 29th of her career.
- Mardigian's stayed one behind Wall with her 28th career home run.
- Wilson is 5th in the SAC with her six wins.
- Warren is 6-8 in her last three games with three doubles and five RBI's.
