Baseball wins mid-week contest at Southern Weselyan 10-1

Central, SC - The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball team won their 15th game of the season with a 10-1 mid-week victory at Southern Weselyan. Cole Stanford went 3-for-5 while Cole Laskowski and Nathaneal Keeter added a pair of hits on the day. 

LR saw their bullpen put up six straight zeros with six different pitchers as Spencer Floyd picked up the victory out of the pen.  LR will now get ready to welcome Newberry to Durham Field on Friday afternoon.

GAME INFO:
  • LR scored a pair of runs in 3rd and 7th inning and added three runs in 4th and 8th. 
  • Bears had nine hits in the game, led by three from Cole Stanford
  • Nathen Morris started and went three innings, allowing just one run.
  • Eight different Bears scored as Alex Rich and Nathaneal Keeter each scored twice from the 8th and 9th spot in the lineup. 
  • Cole Laskowski had a pair of RBI's as LR did take an advantage of five errors from Southern Wesleyan. 
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
  • This was the Bears first ever trip to Central, S.C.
  • LR remains perfect against Southern Weselyan with a 9-0 all-time mark.
  • Michael Logan saw his 14-game hitting streak end tonight. 
  • Keeter and Mackenzie Wainwright extended their hitting streaks to eight games.
  • Wainwright and Laskowski have reached base every game this season.
UP NEXT: The Bears will welcome Newberry to Durham Field for this key SAC weekend series. The Wolves have had the Bears's number the last few years as Newberry has won seven of the last eight meetings. Newberry comes into the game with a record of 12-7 (4-5 SAC). Friday's game has a 3:00 PM first pitch from Hickory, N.C.
