SALISBURY, NC - The Lenoir-Rhyne baseball team picked up their 10th loss of the season on Tuesday in a 9-7 loss at Catawba. This was the second of two non-conference contests the Bears played against the Indians, with each team winning at home.
Despite out-hitting Catawba, Lenoir-Rhyne struggled to find the strike zone in this one, walking a season-high 10 batters in the loss.

STORY OF THE GAME
- Catawba jumped out to a 3-0 lead before a Sal Carricato home run and Michael Logan RBI double cut the lead to one.
- Following two Indian runs in the fifth off a wild pitch and bases loaded walk, the Bears tied things up when Logan launched a three-run blast to left.
- Two runs in both the seventh and eighth innings extended Catawba's lead to 9-5.
- The Bears attempted a comeback, scoring two in the top of the ninth, but two straight strikeouts the runners on first and second ended the game.
- Michael Logan was 2-for-3 with four RBI's and a run scored, while Sal Carricato went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.
- Gavin Marley (3-1) picked up his first loss of the year.
