NEWBERRY, SC - The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse team used a balanced attack to take down #16 Newberry 17-12 for their fifth ranked win of the season. 12 Bears picked up a goal in this one, led by a hat trick from Jarrett Huff. 

Lenoir-Rhyne never trailed in this one, as they took a quick 4-0 lead and never looked back.

STORY OF THE GAME

• Jarrett Huff and Evan Voss each scored two goals in the early going to put the Bears up 4-0. 
• The teams traded goals for most of the half before the Bears closed with back-to-back goals from Cameron Herd and Nate Serrano to take a 12-6 lead at the break.
• Newberry got on the board first in the second half but any momentum the Wolves had was squashed by two straight goals from Matt Scruggs and Morgan Madish.
• Robert Walker and Owen Scott found the back of the net late in the third and the Bears led 17-9 with one quarter remaining. 
• Despite not scoring in the fourth the Bears allowed just three goals late and comfortably won this one by five.

STATS OF THE GAME

• Jarrett Huff led with three goals, followed by Morgan Madish (2), Matt Scruggs (2), and Evan Voss (2).
• Huff picked up two assists in the game to lead the team.
• Jack Burdge made four saves and picked up his third consecutive victory.
• Matthew Mancini was 17-26 on face-offs.
• The Bears were 17-17 on clears and led the Wolves 39-32 in shots.

• This was Lenoir-Rhyne's fifth straight win.
• Lenoir-Rhyne has never lost to the Wolves and leads the all-time series 9-0.
• The Bears are tied for third in the SAC standings, one game back of Anderson and two back of Limestone.
