NEWBERRY, SC - The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Lacrosse team saw their near-record winning streak come to an end on Saturday as they fell 14-12 to a strong Newberry side. The Bears outscored the Wolves 8-5 in the 1st, 3rd, and 4th quarters combined, but a nine-spot from Newberry in the second quarter was enought to give the home side the victory.
Leading the way in this one was
Kirra Olson, who picked up her second five-goal game of the season.

STORY OF THE GAME:
- Thanks to two goals from Kirra Olson and a score from Ellie Campbell the Bears went up 3-1 after the opening 15 minutes of play.
- Newberry scored eight of the first 10 goals of the second quarter and used that momentum to give themselves a 10-7 halftime lead.
- Thanks to two Olson goals the Bears outscored the Wolves 3-1 in the third to cut the lead to just 11-10 heading into the fourth.
- Back-to-back goals from Alexa Burghardt and Anneleise Meyer tied the game at 12-12 with nine minutes left in the game.
- Newberry scored two goals in the final six minutes to get the win.
