DAVIDSON, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Triathlon Team took part in the Lake Davidson Triathlon on Sunday, taking fourth out of 11 teams and second in Division II. Highlighting the day was Zoila Sicilia, who flew through the race with a time of 57:56.52. Her time of 18:04 in the 5K run is a new personal best, eight seconds faster than her time at Friday's cross country meet.

The course consisted of a 750 meter swim, 12.7 mile bike, and a 5K run. Winning the race was Queens with 871 points, followed by Wingate (332), East Tennessee State (320), and Lenoir-Rhyne (319). Sicilia was the first Division II racer across the line, finishing 50 seconds ahead of Wingate's Vanda Krizkova. 

Claudia Teran-Romagosa was the second finisher across the line for the Bears, taking 12th with a time of 58:48.32. Her time of 8:56 in the 750 yard swim was the fastest for the Bears on the day. Just behind her in 18th was Sabrina Fleig, who came through in 59:28.05. Her bike time of 29:49 was tied for tops on LR with Sicilia. Sophomore Isis Gaskin took 24th in 1:01:01.51, closing strong with a 19:04 5k. The final scorer for Lenoir-Rhyne was junior Alex Linden, who took 30th with a time of 1:01:52.73. 

The Bears will take partin the Robius Landing triathlon in Midlothian, Virginia, on Sunday, September 28th. That will be their final tune-up before they come back to take part in the East Regionals on Saturday, October 25th, at Lake Norman.
