HICKORY, N.C. - The national champion Lenoir-Rhyne women's triathlon team has been named a CTCA Scholar All-America Team. In addition to the team award, six individuals were named Scholar All-Americans.
Zoila Sicilia,
Sabrina Fleig,
Claudia Teran-Romagosa,
Isis Gaskin, and
Alex Linden were CTCA Scholar All-Americans while
Agathe Claude was an Honorable Mention CTCA Scholar All-American.
In order for a team to be recognized they must have a team GPA of 3.2 or higher. Individual Scholar All-American honors are awarded to the top 21 finishers at the national championships who have maintained a GPA of 3.5 or higher throughout the fall semester of competition. Honorable Mention Scholar All-Americans are athletes who did not finish in the top 21 of their division but have still maintained a GPA of 3.5 or higher throughout the fall semester.
This year the Bears took home their third national championship in four years. Sicilia was the Division II individual national champion, Fleig was runner up and Teran-Romagosa took fourth.
Harley Mason won her fourth National Coach of the Year award.
