McCromick, S.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Golf team posted a sixth place finish at the Savannah Lakes Women's Fall Invitational this week, finishing with a team score of 895 (+31). This was a 51-stroke improvement on last week's 944 (+80) shot at the NCAA South Regional Preview.
Lee won the team title, shooting scores of 293-285-297 to finish with an 875 (+11). Lee's Hannah Nall took medalist honors, going 69-69-72 to come through with a 210 (-6).Â
Leading the way for the Bears was
Eve Neild, who shot rounds of 69-74-76 to tie for sixth with a 219 (+3). Her opening round 69 (-3) was the lowest of her three-year Bear career.
Danielle Bekker continued the strong start to her Lenoir-Rhyne career, tying for 17th with a three-round score of 225 (+9). She went under-par with a 71 in her second round.
Charlotte Colley was Lenoir-Rhyne's third finisher, tying for 29th with a 228 (+12). Just one stroke behind her was
Jaya Wilkinson, who's opening round 72 paced the way for a 229 (+13).
Sarah Durham closed things out for the Bears by tying for 61st with a 240 (+24).
As a team Lenoir-Rhyne was third on par 3s (+7) and tied for third on par 5s (+8). Their consistency showed as they were second with 178 pars.
Eve Neild tied for second in par 3 scoring (2.92, -1) and was tied for seventh on par 4s (4.07, +2).Â
INDIVIDUAL SCORES
Lenoir-Rhyne will be back in action in two weeks when they travel to St. Simons Island in Georgia to take part in the St. Simons Island Intercollegiate, hosted by Lincoln Memorial. The tournament will take place on Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 6th-7th, at the King & Prince Resort.
