WINGATE, N.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne dropped their first conference match of the year in four sets to No. 20 ranked Wingate on Tuesday night.
Emmaleigh Allen,
Kayli Cleaver, and
Brooke Aeschliman all finished with over 10 kills while
Emmie Modlin led the team with 22 assists.
The Bears will look to bounce back this Saturday as they turn their attention to the Newberry Wolves at home.

- Wingate jumped ahead in the first set leading 9-3 forcing Lenoir-Rhyne to use their first timeout.
- The Bears finished with seven kills on 32 attack attempts as Wingate took the first set 25-13.
- Averie Dale opened up the second set with three straight kills.
- Brooke Aeschliman's fourth kill of the second set gave the Bears their largest lead of the set at 12-7.
- Kayli Cleaver generated two kills at the end of the second to help the Bears prevail 25-20.
- Wingate was held to just four kills and a .000 hitting % in the second set.
- It was a back and forth affair to begin the third set until Wingate jumped ahead 14-8 off a Maggie Fillauer service ace.
- Lenoir-Rhyne went on a 6-2 run to cut the Bulldogs' lead to 20-16.
- Wingate would hang on to win 25-23 in the set, finishing with 15 kills and just one attack error.
- The Bulldogs led as many as 11 points four separate times during the fourth set, winning 25-16.
