AUGUSTA, GA - The Lenoir-Rhyne softball team split with Augusta on Friday, winning the opener 7-5 in extras before falling 4-2 in the nightcap.
Montana Honeycutt and
Kynlee Dextraze both went yard for the first time in their career while
Lani Warren hit her first home run of the season. Dextraze's home run was the first at bat of her collegiate career.

STORY OF GAME ONE:
- Lenoir-Rhyne opened up a 4-0 lead thanks to a Montana Honeycutt home run in the second and two unearned runs in the fourth.
- Four Augusta runs in the fourth tied it up before Lani Warren hit a solo shot in the fifth to put the Bears back ahead.
- A solo home run for Augusta in the fifth would be the catalyst for sending this one to extras.
- In the top of the eighth Chloe Woodward scored on an Adriana Lamantia groundout, and Kennedy Lange crossed the plate thanks to a Kaylan Brown double.
- Madison Wilson (2-1) shut down the Jaguars in the bottom of the inning to pick up the win.
- Lani Warren was 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Montana Honeycutt went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
STORY OF GAME TWO:
UP NEXT: Lenoir-Rhyne turns right around to face USC Aiken tomorrow. The Pacers are 5-3 and recently defeated Erskine 4-2 in both games of last Wednesday's doubleheader. The last time these two teams met was in March of 2018. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
