WINTER PARK, FL - The Lenoir-Rhyne men's lacrosse team picked up their first win of the season on Saturday afternoon, defeating Rollins 13-12 in overtime.
Owen Scott's lone goal proved to be the difference in the game as he buried a shot from 10 yards out in overtime for the win.
Donovan Powell finished the game with five points coming from four goals and an assist.

STORY OF THE GAME
- After going up 2-1 thanks to two Donovan Powell goals, Lenoir-Rhyne saw themselves down 4-2 midway through the second quarter.
- Two late goals from Powell and Morgan Madish cut the lead to 6-5 at the break.
- After a strong start to the second half from Rollins, the Bears took a 10-9 lead late in the third off a Sloan Steward score.
- The Tars won the fourth 3-2 and the game went to overtime.
- Matthew Mancini won the overtime face off and Owen Scott made sure Rollins didn't get a chance, scoring on the first shot of the period.
STATS OF THE GAME
- Donovan Powell (4), Cooper Starcke (2), Morgan Madish (2), and Jarrett Huff (2) all finished with multiple goals.
- Huff led the team with three assists.
- Lake Erie transfer Gavin Conlan picked up the win in net, making five saves in 32 minutes of action.
- Matthew Mancini was 12-21 on face offs.
- Rollins led 45-36 in shots but the Bears were tops with a 22-19 advantage in shots on goal.
- Lenoir-Rhyne was 1-1 in extra man opportunities while Rollins was 2-4.

- The Bears are now 7-0 all-time against Rollins, scoring in double figures every game.
- Assistant coach Ned Kaish scored three goals in the last overtime game these teams faced off in, a 17-16 Lenoir-Rhyne victory in 2012.
NEXT UP: The Bears will look to get above .500 on Saturday when they pltay host to Lees-McRae in the first matchup between these two teams since 2014. The Bobcats are 1-3 on the year after recently defeating Dominican (CA) 22-9. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. from Moretz Stadium.
