HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The #30 ranked Lenoir-Rhyne women's golf team took ninth out of 19 teams at the Battle at Hilton Head, their first competition of the Spring semester. The Bears shot 310-310-322 to finish with a 54-hole total of 942 (+78).
#1 Wingate won the team title with an 882 (+18) while their own Amely Bochaton was medalist with a 209 (-7).
Eve Neild, ranked #24 in the country, continued her strong season with a 24th place finish, scoring rounds of 77-74-79 to finish with a 230 (+14).
Danielle Bekker was 39th with a 236 (+20) while
Jaya Wilkinson wasn't far behind with a 238 (+22).
Neild tied for first in par-5 scoring with an average of 4.92 (-1). Neild was tied for the second most birdies in the tournament at nine.
Emily Gilmour tallied the lone eagle of the tournament with a three on the par-5 15th in round one.
INDIVIDUAL SCORES
Lenoir-Rhyne will be back in action next week when they head to Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, to play host to the LR/West Dunes Intercollegiate. The tournament will take place at the Dunes West Golf Club.
