HICKORY, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne women's lacrosse team dropped their season opener on Sunday, falling 18-10 to #10 Rollins. 

Anneleise Meyer, Jessica Mikesell, and Kirra Olson each finished with two goals to lead the Bears.

STORY OF THE GAME

• The Bears opened up the game with a 5-1 lead thanks to five goals from five different Bears. 
• Rollins answered with a 7-0 scoring run that was stopped by a Kirra Olson rocket with 2:18 left in the half.
• The Tars continued to push in the third, outscoring the Bears 8-1 in the period. 
• Lenoir-Rhyne picked up goals from Jessica Mikesell, Anneleise Meyer, and Addie Hale in the fourth. 

STATS OF THE GAME

• Sally Friesen (0-1) made seven saves in the loss.
• Abbey Walker and Hailey Larsen led the team with three draw controls each. 
• Keegan Hudspeth and Delaney Williams were tops with three caused turnovers.
• There were 15 penalties this game, 13 of which were committed by the Bears.
