Aiken, S.C.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball team clubbed four home runs in a 11-8 mid-week victory over USC-Aiken Wednesday evening.
Trent Murchison,
Mackenzie Wainwright,
Sylas Boris and
Drew Beard all went deep for LR as the Bears finished with 14 hits on the night.
Murchison reached base in all six of his plate appearances and went 2-for-2, including his home run. Wainwright led the Bears with another three hit evening.
Preston Drebes picked up his third win of the season while
Jack Renaud grabbed his fourth save throwing a scoreless ninth. .

STORY OF GAME:
- Bears opened a 7-2 lead through five innings thanks to a three-run third and a four-run fifth.
- The Pacers scored five times in the bottom of the six to tie the game at 7-7.
- Sylas Boris then untied the game in the top of the 7th with his third home run of the season, a two-run shot.
- USC-Aiken cut the lead back to 9-8 before Murchison gave the Bears two insurance runs with a two-run bomb in the 9th.
- Jack Renaud then come in and shut the door on the Pacers to earn his fourth save of the season.
STATS OF GAME:
- The top three of the Bears lineup tonight (Murchison, Lackey, Wainwright) had seven hits and seven walks combined. The trio also drove in seven runs.
- Seth Christmas and Drew Beard also had two hits a piece as LR had 14 hits in this one.
- Paul Toovalian got the start going three innings and only allowing one unearned run. Toovalian stuck out seven in just the three innings.
- Preston Drebes picked up his third win of the season, throwing two shutout innings in relief.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- This was just the fourth all-time meeting between these programs with the last coming in 2022.
- Wainwright extended his hitting streak to 21 games dating back to last season.
- Wainwright, Murchinson, Christmas have reach base in all eleven games this season.
- Beard has four straight multi-hit games and is hitting a ridiculous .625 during that stretch.
UP NEXT: This weekend is a rematch of last year's Super Regional as the Bears will welcome #5 Catawba to Durham Field for a key SAC weekend tilt. Catawba is currently 11-2 and a perfect 6-0 in the SAC. Game one is Friday afternoon with a 3:00 pm first pitch.
