MONROE, N.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne women's golf took 13th/18 teams at the Jerry Surratt Memorial Intercollegiate this week. 13 teams competing were ranked in the top-50, including #1 Wingate, #2 Dallas Baptist, #3 Anderson, #4 Findlay, #5 Grand Valley State, #7 North Georgia, and #9 Lander. 48 of the 96 golfers were top-150 players in Division II.
The Bears scored rounds of 310-308-305 (923, +59) to take 13th and finish just behind #5 Grand Valley State. #1 Wingate won the tournament by 16 strokes and was the only team to finish under-par, shooting an 854 (-10) over the course of three rounds. The Bulldogs' Olivia Meinecke (205, -11) took home medalist honors.Â
Eve Neild, ranked #79 in the country, finished in a tie for 15th to lead the Bears. She went 74-75-71 to finish with a 54-hole score of 220 (+4).
Charlotte Colley was as consistent as they come, finishing with a 77 in all three rounds to tie for 50th with a 231 (+15). Just behind her was
Jaya Wilkinson, who improved each round to tie for 62nd with a 234 (+18).
Neild placed high in the strong field due to her failure to make big mistakes as she tied for third in the field with 39 pars. As a team the Bear were sixth in par-3 scoring (3.22, +13).

Women's Golf will be back in action on March 23-24 when they head to Salisbury to take part in the Patsy Rendleman Invitational, hosted by Catawba at the Country Club of Salisbury.Â
