HICKORY, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne women's lacrosse team nearly came away with a monumental victory on Monday, falling 13-12 in overtime to #21 Seton Hill. Lenoir-Rhyne was looking for their fourth ranked win in program history and second in as many years.
Abbey Walker led the Bear with four points, coming off two goals and two assists. Lenoir-Rhyne caused 19 turnovers in the contest, the most for a Bears squad since March 3, 2021, against Coker. Leading the way on defense was
Anneleise Meyer and
Kate Carter, each posting five caused turnovers.

STORY OF THE GAME
- The teams combined for seven goals in the opening quarter with Seton Hill holding a 4-3 lead after one.
- After being tied 5-5 Abbey Walker and Savannah Stallings scored two late goals to give Lenoir-Rhyne a 7-5 lead at the break.
- The Griffins outscored the Bears 4-0 in the third to take a 9-7 lead after three.
- Quick goals from Stallings, Kirra Olson, and Hannah Thomas early in the fourth turned momentum around and put the Bears ahead one.
- Seton Hill went on a 3-0 run but two goals in 20 seconds from Hailey Larsen and Addie Hale sent the game into overtime.
- After both teams failed to convert on their first chance in overtime Seton Hill's Mila Udovicic scored to give Seton Hill the win.
STATS OF THE GAME
- Hailey Larsen led the Bears with three goals on six shots.
- Sally Friesen made 10 saves in the loss.
- Seton Hill out-shot the Bears 31-24 and held the home side to just 14-25 on clears.
- Neither team converted a free position goal, combining to go 0-3.

- This was the first ever meeting between the two clubs.
- Seton Hill was coming off a 12-9 win over #19 Grand Valley State on Friday.
